Jochen Buchholz studied computer science at the University of Stuttgart with a focus on distributed systems, databases, and information systems. Since joining HLRS he has worked primarily in many EU- and BMBF-funded projects.
Currently, he is responsible for the introduction and further development of multi-factor authentication on HLRS’s systems. The investigation and introduction of an identity management system is also part of his tasks. In addition, he is focusing on introducing an IT asset management system and other network management tasks. His other interests include cloud computing and IT security.
Since joining HLRS, Buchholz’s other activities have focused on optimizing cluster operation depending on energy consumption and specific compute job properties, promoting cooperation between HPC centers, and offering HPC services to a broader user base, especially in industry.
