Research Scientist
Dr. Johann Higl is a member of the high-level user support team, where he assists users of the HLRS systems in analyzing and improving the parallel efficiency of their codes.
Dr. Higl obtained his degree at the TU Munich and the Max-Planck-Institute for Astrophysics, where he researched turbulent flows in stellar interiors by performing CFD simulations. Before he joined HLRS, he continued this work as a postdoctoral researcher at the Heidelberg Institute for Theoretical Studies.
His research interests include low-Mach number CFD schemes, stellar structure and internal gravity waves.
