Deputy Head, Philosophy of Computational Sciences
With a background in mathematics and philosophy, Michael Herrmann’s fields of interest are the epistemology and philosophy of computer simulations und machine learning. In his current project he focuses on what we can learn from artificially generated content — e.g., deepfakes — about mistrust and suitable trust in computer-intensive methods. How do we approach increasing vulnerability due to digitalization on a technological and societal level?
