Research Scientist
Thomas Obst is a research scientist in the Visualization Department. His current research focus is on enhancing digital twins of cities in immersive virtual environments by incorporating both simulation and sensor data for the purpose of urban and transportation planning.
His academic interests include mobile and stationary sensor systems, machine learning for the acquisition and analysis of traffic trajectories and simulator interfaces for micromobility.
Obst holds a degree in aeronautical and aerospace engineering from the University of Stuttgart.
