These two courses (introduction & advanced MPI) are organized by IT4I in cooperation with HLRS and VSC Vienna. Both courses are also a PRACE training courses.
Introduction to MPI
Message Passing Interface (MPI) is a dominant programming model on clusters and distributed memory architectures. This course is focused on its basic concepts. In particular, exchanging data by point-to-point and collective operations. Attendees will be able to immediately test and understand these constructs in hands-on sessions.
Content level: 75% for beginners, 25% for intermediate
May 25 (8:45-15:15), May 26 (8:45-15:15), and May 27 (8:45-13:15), for details and registration see here @IT4I or here @PRACE
Advanced MPI (see other webpage)
Message Passing Interface (MPI) is a dominant programming model on clusters and distributed memory architectures. This course is focused on users with some experience with MPI that want to deepen their knowledge. The course briefly recapitulates basic concepts and describes them in more detail. Then, more advanced concepts will be described (e.g., one-sided communication, parallel file I/O). Attendees will be able to immediately test and understand all these constructs in hands-on sessions.
Content level: 40% for beginners, 40% for intermediate, and 20% for advanced users
Oct 19 (8:45-15:15), Oct 20 (8:45-15:15), and Oct 21 (8:45-13:15),, for details and registration see here @IT4I or here @PRACE
