Research Scientist
As a member of the HLRS Project Coordination, Dr. Ing. Flavio Galeazzo carries out scientific pre-evaluations of federal project applications for the use of the supercomputer infrastructure at HLRS. He also leads the annual scientific conference “High Performance Computing in Science and Engineering” for HLRS, including preparing and editing the scientific conference proceedings.
Dr.-Ing. Galeazzo's research focuses on the simulation of energy systems with computational fluid dynamics (CFD), including the modelling of wind turbines and farms, internal combustion engines, oxyfuel systems, and biomass pyrolysis and combustion. His interests also include the performance of CFD codes in different computing architectures and AI applications for CFD.
Dr. Ing. Galeazzo was trained in chemical engineering at the University of São Paulo, has a master’s degree in process engineering from the State University of Campinas, and has a PhD in combustion technology from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.
