Basic Knowledge of High-Performance Computing (HPC): Participants should have a foundational understanding of HPC concepts, architectures, and programming.
Experience with Scientific Computing Applications: Familiarity with scientific computing or computational modeling in any domain is required. This includes experience with simulations, data analysis, or other computational research tasks.
Programming Skills: Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in HPC, such as C, C++, Fortran, or Python. Knowledge of parallel programming paradigms (e.g., MPI, OpenMP) is beneficial.
Familiarity with Verification, Validation, and Uncertainty Quantification (VVUQ): Understanding the basic principles of VVUQ in computational models and simulations. Prior exposure to these concepts in research or practical applications is advantageous.
Basic Linux/Unix Skills: Ability to navigate, use command-line tools, and perform basic operations in a Linux/Unix environment, as the Eagle supercomputer runs on such an operating system.
